A fantastic opportunity for young children to learn about how the earth was made.

To be honest, I thought that The world said yes wouldn't be much fun to watch because it was made for young children. But when I saw the costumes the actor was wearing, the lighting effects she was going to use and all the children who were engrossed, I was also excited to see the play. As soon as I walked in, I noticed that the children were very engaged.

Verden sa ja was performed by actor Marit Synnøve Berg, and it's about how the world was created and how it developed. The actor wore a globe made of skin, and she also used Velcro to attach elements to the globe during the performance.

For me, the play was very nice to watch. The way the kids sat quietly on the floor and waited for the whole thing to begin was very moving. Before the performance began, the actor explained that it can be a bit scary with the sound and if the kids got scared, they could hug/hold on to the person sitting next to you. Because the play wasn't made for 1-2-year-olds, but for children aged 3 and up.

When the performance started, I noticed that Berg used a lot of aids such as light effects to create tension and music to create all the wild sounds she needed to emphasize the story. The text from the book (by Kaja Dahle Nyhus, editor's note) was read as a voiceover. Along the way, the actor added new elements to the spinning globe, such as a factory, dog, house, etc. Even I learned something new.

The world said yes is a good and fun way to teach children something new. But I'm not going to lie, it was a bit hard to sit on the floor. I don't know how the children managed to sit still on the floor for about 20/25 minutes. It was very hard for me, I couldn't sit still. It would have been nice to have chairs for everyone. But apart from that, the performance was very nice to watch. And the children were very happy that they got to see it. So was I, and it was nice that the children got the book afterwards so they could read it.

I thought Verden sa ja was really good and I was really happy that I got the chance to experience something like that in Dale. We don't always get the chance to experience something so wonderful. I hope we get more fantastic opportunities like this.
