Reconstructions is a performance about young people's thoughts and mental health. Through collaboration with mental health youth, real-life stories about young people's thoughts and problems are performed.
One of the actors did not have the opportunity to be present during the performance. Despite the fact that not all the actors were there, we were lucky enough to see one excerpt from the performance. This review is therefore based on the excerpt we saw.

When we entered the auditorium, we were given an explanation of what the play was about and the instruments used. The show was performed in a musical way, and we got to hear three young people's stories.

The stories they told were very sad, but it is important that they are told. The way the actors told the stories was incredibly nice! It was something completely different from what I had expected, and to my great surprise I liked it very much. They spoke in echoes, made sounds by snapping their fingers, banging on the stools they were sitting on and by speaking in a musical way. The way they spoke gave the play a steady rhythm and it almost sounded like they were reading a poem.
We heard three stories. The first was about a boy who felt that he was seen through negative eyes. Not all of us in SUS understood the plot of this story. Even if we didn't understand it, I believe that children who experience the emotions will recognize themselves in the story. It's not always easy to put your own feelings into words, but the actors managed to describe the emotions well. The second story was very easy to understand. It was incredibly emotional and sad. Hedda Sandvik told the story in a good way, and we really liked how they made sounds while she spoke.Parts of the last story we heard were performed in the form of dance. The man dancing was wearing hearing protection, which gave us the impression that he was living in his own bubble. We at SUS think this performance is incredibly suitable for young people between the ages of 14 and 18. The scenery was simple, but the variation in themes made it very interesting to listen to. The show was not designed to make us laugh. It addressed important themes in a very nice way. We believe that most young people who see the show will think a lot about it afterwards.ReconstructionsEven though we only got to see a small part of the show, we really enjoyed it! The play made us think about the others around us. We would have liked to see more of the show, and would like to see it again! Therefore, we choose to give the play five out of five theater masks.
