Great chemistry!
Sécica is an African music group that focuses on folk music from Senegal, Mali and Ivory Coast.
Sellou Blagone (vocals, percussion and dance), Ibou Cissokho (kora and vocals), Sidiki Camara (percussion, ngoni and vocals) were the talented musicians who held the concert for us.
They work really well together and the chemistry and the way they have fun cannot be measured.
The artists had a lot of knowledge about the instruments and the songs, which they taught us a bit about during the concert. It was really fun to learn about a new type of music that we (the bloggers) don't know much about before. They had a nice atmosphere that went well with the different songs they played. They managed to keep the audience interested throughout the performance with the help of dancing, good explanations of instruments and singing along. They had good vibes and the effects in the background played a big factor in the performance.
Although we enjoyed the show very much, we don't think everyone had the same experience. We think that some audience members were not very engaged in the performance because they didn't respond well to the artists and the encouragement to sing along. There was a lot of unrest in the auditorium because some people were preoccupied with various things that were not relevant to the performance.
"We would have liked the organizers to have introduced the musicians a little better, and for example that two of the musicians had previously played with artists we know, such as Karpe and Selma French Bolstad. That would have made it more exciting and fun for the audience.
In any case, we thought the show was really cool and we'd love to see them live again!
