We have seen the performance A Sparrow and a Diva. It's about the French artist Édith Piaf, nicknamed the Sparrow, and the singing movie star and diva Marlene Dietrich. They were both superstars in their day. The two world-famous artists both lived a life in the limelight, and are strongly associated with the time around World War II. Piaf came from a poor background in Paris and Dietrich from the upper class in Berlin. They were totally different in expression, background and style, but nevertheless developed a close friendship that lasted a lifetime through their music.

In this production, Britt-Synnøve Johansen played Marlene and Eva Bjerga Haugen played Edith. They were very good at singing and had empathy for the play. The age group is 13-19 years. We thought this was a very good fit, because the younger ones would probably have been bored because there was a lot of music. There were also a lot of swear words used, and humor that the children had not understood. This performance would have suited adults well, because they understand the theme.

"We thought there was little variety, it was mostly singing and acting. What was cool was that there was live music. There was both piano and double bass on stage, which suited the concept well. It was really fun to see how they blended acting and singing together.
