Creates laughter, joy and participation
Sans is a dance performance where they do not use music, but create rhythm with the help of their surroundings and their bodies. It is a very interesting performance especially for a younger age group, where you are allowed to help create rhythms and give life to the performance. It is therefore very interactive.
The target group is children over the age of 6, and we notice that by seeing how much fun the children in the front row had. Although it is targeted towards them, both adults and youngsters seemed to have fun as well. And even those who thought it might be a little uncomfortable to participate took a step outside their comfort zone and joined anyway. We ourselves did not find this performance very exciting. However, what we really enjoyed seeing was how the children perceived the performance and how they reacted when they were impressed by the trick/dance steps.
The performance has been created after the dancers have been to Kabul several times, where they have worked with children and artists. The focus of the dance performance is movement and curiosity. They did this by not using electricity or other technical means. The dancers had good empathy and were good at engaging the audience, which made it extra fun to watch.
There was a lot of cool dancing in the performance and it was aimed at the right target group, we felt.
