Forgotten
Today we saw the performance Forgotten, a dance performance that gives you an insight into how those who went through World War II felt during the war.
Our expectations were that they would dance their way through a story. We thought it was going to be a good show with a lot of talented and skilled dancers telling a story well. We've heard a lot of good reviews about the show and we have high expectations.
In between, they mixed in audio recordings of people talking about how they experienced the war in Norway. Something we particularly liked was that even though it was a dance performance, they mixed in some small actor-like scenes.
It helped us understand the story they showed us better. The excellent choreography by the talented Simone Grøtte was an outstanding dance, which helped create the unique atmosphere. We also really noticed the creative way Simone Grøtte chose to make up her dancers.
Lights were placed around the stage to illuminate the dancers and the audience. When the dancers brought cups on stage and danced with them over the lights, the performance took on a unique sparkle.
Forgotten is very much something we will remember and something we can really recommend to everyone, whether you are interested in dance or not.
