Musical siblings
Abraham Reunion is a band of four musicians. The band consists of a sibling group of three, with the surname Abraham. That's where the name of the group comes from. The band has roots in the Caribbean and France, so their music is inspired by the music from there.
We liked the band very much and thought the performance was well done. The music they played was very catchy, and the way they enjoyed themselves on stage made it even better to watch and listen to. The instruments fit together very well and complemented each other in a good way. In addition to the piano, bass and drum kit, the vocalist brought along small percussion instruments that gave that little extra with sound effects. They had good contact with the audience throughout the concert and gave us short introductions before the songs, so that we understood more about what the songs were about, as they sang in French.
Eventually, in one of the songs, the lead vocalist walked down from the stage and around to the audience, which we think was a cool experience for those who were near her. The only thing that was a bit silly about this was that we couldn't hear the rhythmic instrument she was playing. During the concert, the band got the audience to sing along to one of their songs. This made us feel closer to the band, but large amounts of the audience weren't singing along, which we thought was a bit awkward. They could also have had a little more variety, as the songs were much of the same.
Towards the end of the show, the bassist came out and did a surprise tap number. This wouldn't really have fit into the show, but because they introduced the song by saying that they grew up singing and dancing, it made more sense and gave the concert a little more variety.
All in all, we think this was a very good show, and we believe it can be suitable for teenagers and young adults aged 13-25. We recommend going to their concerts if you have the opportunity.
