This life or the next - a very unique visual representation of Hanna Poór
This life or the next also shows what it is like to be an outsider and feel foreign
Childhood
This life or the next is about Tariq from Østfold and his journey to Syria to support the rebels at the start of the war. We start with his childhood and the challenges of being a minority and speaking a different language at home. Among other things, he is sent to a military school in Pakistan. Over time, we get a glimpse of what it's like to be foreign, different and how easy it can be to join negatively influential groups.
Religion and chaos
Religion plays a major role as the main character goes from selling drugs to taking part in morning prayers, turning both his life and his friends upside down. They then pack up the car and drive to Syria, where we hear about chaotic conditions and violence.
The piece is performed by a person on stage who is impressive. There is a car that is cut in half and many LED rods that help to create an interesting atmosphere and a form of visual effects, a very unique visual experience. The last part of the performance involved a lot of sound and smoke.
I liked the play a lot, but it was a bit demanding to watch for me and the others I talked to, but it's a unique experience that gives you a new perspective. I would recommend it for 15-17 year olds, but would have liked it to be suitable for older age groups.
