Bad dreams and good nightmares / Guro von Germeten
The next performance was a concert with Guro Von Germeten. We were to listen to the accordion for 45 minutes, and we from SUS must honestly say we were a little skeptical. We entered a hall filled with lamps, a desk and some pictures. There was a good atmosphere right from the first step in. I could actually feel myself starting to get a little excited.
We sit down at the back of the hall and the first part of the concert starts with a video of strangers on the street. They are asked what they dream about. It's both fun and interesting to watch. I feel that such a start gets the audience involved and I thought it was very creative. Then we hear a cozy song played by Guro Von Germeten on the accordion. She is joined by Erlend Barrat-Due on clarinet and Lars Tormod Jenset on bass. "We thought listening to accordion, clarinet and bass was a really nice combination. Together it sounded really cool. We then get to know Guro's childhood and her funny memories. It was really fun and cozy to listen to. Personally, I thought it was incredibly creative to mix in her own life during a concert. I think she got the audience involved, because there was a lot of laughter in the hall. We got to hear a lot of great songs and it was simply great to be there. We think the main action in the concert was dreaming. Guro told us that she actually had more dreams than memories.Guro was a wonderful person with a lot of energy and humor. She behaved 100% like herself. With her talented musicians on either side, together they created a great concert.
