We had been looking forward to this performance ever since we read about it, and had quite high expectations for it. The play was about a gold-collared flower with a chromosomal defect. He stands together with his best friend, a blade of grass, while he dreams of meeting another flower before the summer is over.
The play was designed as a white canvas, with the image of a blade of grass, white collar, gold collar and dandelion appearing slightly inside the play. The actors stood in front of each of their roles. We thought it was incredibly well made and very entertaining. Behind the play was the life of a flower. The director had started to think about what it was like to be a flower, what it must be like not to be able to move, with lawnmowers and everything.
This made me really think about what a flower thinks and what it's like to be a flower. During the performance we also noticed that the flower with a chromosome defect, had quite a lot of self-confidence despite not being yellow like all other yellow-collared flowers.
We at SUS were incredibly happy after this performance. It gave us a good laugh, and was really quite childish in itself, but the fact that there were people who were the flowers so that there was a lot of talking was also very good. This led to more life in the play and made us feel very much a part of it.
Before it started, I thought it would be a bit boring as it was supposed to last 45 minutes, but it went incredibly fast and was over before I knew it. I wasn't bored at all during the performance and would have liked to see it more times. This suggests that they have exciting content and are good at making sure it never gets boring.
Everyone in SUS agrees that it really lived up to our expectations, and since we are 15 years old, I think the target group can be up to 15 years old, and should not be 12. This was certainly not childish even if the idea itself is a bit childish.
We choose to give this play full marks, because we can't find anything negative and were incredibly satisfied after the performance.
Duration: 45 min Target group: 8-12 years
