The Sound of Munch is a performance put together by three men: Anders Lønne Grønseth on various saxophones and bass clarinet, Audun Ellingsen on double bass and melodica, and Ulrik Ibsen Thorsrud, on drums and saw. They have selected some of Edvard Munch's paintings and added music to match the mood of the pictures. When the performance begins, it's dark, and after a while Anders, Audun and Ulrik start playing various instruments such as the cymbal and tambourine. As they walk around the room and play, an image begins to form on the screen in the middle of the stage. The three men then return to the stage and find other instruments and start playing them. This performance contains dramatic music, sad music, mysterious music and happy music, and the mood of the music matches the mood of the images. For example, it is very dramatic when the image "Scream" is shown, while when the image "Madonna" comes up they play some mysterious music. Paintings of people on a beach are shown, and then there is happy music and a good atmosphere.

I think this performance was a fun show with a lot of good atmosphere and music that went well together. I think the best and funniest part of the show was when Anders and Audun dramatized one of the paintings, without speaking, just using their instruments. The painting was of a woman and a man under a tree. What they did was that Anders played a short saxophone, while Audun used his double bass. Anders was supposed to be the woman and Audun was supposed to be the man. They argued and teased each other, and eventually they became friends again. I thought it was a pretty funny scene, and they were good at using the instruments and the music to make it funny.

I think this performance is suitable for the age group, which is 6 to 16 years, but that it is perhaps best for primary school. The primary school students who were watching the show at the same time as me enjoyed themselves and thought it was great fun.
