VALP is a band from Stavanger that plays typical indie rock, we would say. The band consists of Emilie Eie on vocals, Vetle Aakre Laupsa on bass guitar, Kristian Enkerud Lien on regular guitar and Stian Eismann on drums. They play a slightly more alternative type of music, which hits different people in a very different way. Last year they released their album Middelmådig, which received a five-star rating in Stavanger Aftenblad. They really lived up to expectations.

"We (the bloggers) thought they had great energy up on stage. They worked very hard to get the audience interested and they really got into the songs. The target group was a good fit, but it's very varied from youth to youth. This performance would probably have been better suited to people who, for example, went to music school. The band was very experienced and managed to communicate with the audience in a good way. It was great fun when Emilie ran and sat in the audience and came running down into the hall.

This was the last performance on Tuesday, so we had gotten a lot of impressions of all the performances during the day. That's probably why not everyone was completely on board.

There were a lot of positives, but there were a lot of technical failures during the performance that were a little uncomfortable to listen to. This is not their fault, but this left a bit of an impression.

The lyrics were a little indistinct and got lost in the songs. Unfortunately, the lighting wasn't up to scratch either. Several of the audience and bloggers got bright light in their eyes. I don't think the music is for everyone, but we really enjoyed it.
