The Last Day We Played by kvadratteateret is a beautiful play about three children who don't want to grow up.

The play The Last Day We Played begins with two girls, Ava and Nina, dreading middle school. They've just found out that they didn't get into the same class and that Nina got into class with the terrible Frikk The Shit! They realize that everything will be better if they escape, so they pack up their things and run away into the woods.

It's the middle of the night, Nina and Ava are trying to find a place to camp. When suddenly they hear a noise behind them. Frikk The Shit is jumping out of a bush, this was his territory. He attacks the girls and takes them hostage. Luckily they get free, but it starts to rain, so they invite Frikk into the tent. Maybe they have more in common than they think.

The Last Day We Played is a fun and exciting play. The age group for this play was 10-13 years, which we thought was perfect, as the play is about what it's like before you start secondary school, and how you can feel that you have to grow up and not be "childish" anymore. We thought this play was really good and funny. We particularly liked how they used shadow puppetry to extend the scene and how they used the props. The characters were well thought out, well executed and very recognizable.

The situation in the play was very realistic which made the play very exciting to watch. The jokes were very funny and suitable for both children and adults. Even though the actors were older, they managed to play 7th graders very well. They used sound and light very well to separate play and reality. To summarize, we enjoyed this play very much and highly recommend it.
