What is femininity for you? How do you present, suppress, push forward or withdraw it? What kind of position do we have in relation to each other, and what kind of positions are we all too often given?

Bare en våd munn (Only a Wet Mouth ) is a performance by the newly established company Lindeberg/Nilsen. With extravagant stage design, glittering costumes and throbbing music in the background, the performance opens up space for an honest conversation about what it means to be a woman. Based on autobiographical and documentary material, they explore everything from femininity and sex, to politics and underlying sexism - including Smurfette from the world of the Smurfs, a prime example. Only a Wet Mouth portrays issues in a humorous way, but they're not kidding. Taboos surrounding female orgasms, intimacy and everything in between are finally addressed. This performance does so without shame, and with an almost touching honesty. The performance addresses things that may not always come up in everyday conversation. In Bare en våd munn, thoughts that are often kept to oneself are discussed.

Just a Wet Mouth is incredibly entertaining and the actors on stage are likeable. It also warmed my heart to see otherwise taboo conversations finally make their way onto the stage - without a cramped educational angle. This is a show that is incredibly topical, for both those who have sex and those who do not. These themes concern both the comfortable and the uncomfortable, across all genders. I would recommend this show to all young people and adults. This is a conversation about intimacy, sex and self-image that is incredibly important - almost necessary if you ask me.
