About the jury

The jury will consist of four to five people selected on the basis of their expertise. Overall, the jury should have broad professional expertise, several of whom also have experience in performing arts for children and young people. Efforts should be made to ensure that members from different parts of the Norwegian performing arts field are represented, both creative and performing artists in several genres, as well as from the dissemination side. Academia, industry media/critics and other parts of the field may be represented. Balance and representation in terms of gender, age, geography, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, functional variations, and professional work and background will also be sought. 

The jury shall be an assessment body that selects the winners of the Gulljerven prize. The jury functions completely independently of the committee. Norsk scenekunstbruk , which owns and operates Gulljerven, is the Gold Star Committee.

Gulljerven's purpose is to honor professional actors who work with performing arts for a young audience, both the visible actors and the parts of the field that normally do not get much attention.
