We have started a publishing house!

Following on from the book Scenekunsten og de unge (Vidarforlaget 2014), Scenekunstbruket wants to continue the work of making practice-based, academic and contextualized knowledge about the field of performing arts available. Therefore, we have now established our own publishing house, Scenekunstforlaget, and the first publication is Scenekunst kids klassikere; a book for all kids and adults who are interested in theater and literature. The editors are Hildur Kristinsdottir and Eirik Willyson.

Extract from the book:
"Classics for Kids is an educational project. Education is about being in touch with the world and history, about expanding your horizons by exposing yourself to new knowledge and new experiences. For us, in this project, education is about presenting some important literary works and enticing adults to bring young people to the more experimental theater scenes in Norway. We want to create meeting places between the past and the present, adults and young people, between audiences, artists and professionals. We have believed that it is possible to create art experiences that communicate and work for both young people and adults at the same time. In the same way, we hope that this publication is interesting and inspiring for both young art enthusiasts and adult professionals."

Broad portfolio

Scenekunstforlaget is a publishing house that will have a broad portfolio and highlight different parts of the performing arts field. We will accept book projects from the performing field, the teaching sector, academia, organizers and others. The publisher will not only publish books about the past, but also capture projects about current trends in the field of performing arts. We also want to open up for publications written by young people.
