We saw the dance performance "the Japanese garden" yesterday, we had a lot of fun and all of us got to try out on stage. the performance was shown at Dansens hus. The two dancers on stage were Simone Thiis and Serenella Amoretti. They danced around the story of the first Japanese garden. The show started with one of the dancers telling the story, then the other performer danced out what the first dancer told about. they were dressed in white and black, simple clothes that did not take any focus off the dancers.

dancersThe dancers danced on a kind of leather that has a motion sensor, this is called a pressure pad. The motion sensor allowed the images on the leather to move in interaction with the dancers and eventually the audience. There was appropriate music, the music made the adventure more dramatic.

The dancers danced with acrobatic and large movements, the dance represented the natural elements that take place in this Japanese garden. They used dance and voice to tell the story of a little girl named Shiro. she goes on a journey and sees beautiful nature that is impossible to describe in words, so she creates a garden that brings together the most beautiful nature she has seen on her journey. this garden is a picture of the earth, no one knows for sure how it came to be. but it doesn't matter how it came to be, it is the why that is important. the Japanese garden represents all the beauty we see in the world but also perhaps in each other.

I think the show was great, it had a lot of exciting elements and motifs. It would probably have been more entertaining if the children had been there so we could see them playing on stage instead of seeing the other adults up there. Overall, it was a well-executed piece with wonderful details, which was beautiful to watch.
