We will soon be opening a new application round for the next artist lab in PUSH+! This time, the theme of "failure" in performing arts for children and young people will be under the microscope. There are three places for Norwegian performing artists. The lab will be held in Hasselt, Belgium in the fall of 2019.

Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try Again. Fail again. Fail better - Samuel Beckett

15 performing artists will come together to explore how failure is part of both human and artistic nature. Why are we so afraid of making mistakes, and how can it prevent us from taking risks and discovering ourselves and the world around us?

Among other things, the lab will investigate how failure, and the fear of it, affects children and young people. What kind of creative possibilities lie in making mistakes, and how do children and young people meet failure in their role models on stage?

Failure is also part of the artistic process. As an artist, you have to deal with failure; it can have a value in itself, be a start of something new, and open a space for creativity. The lab will address "failure" both in relation to the audience and in artistic work.

Failure is a detour, not a dead-end street - Zig Ziglar
