This year, Unge stemmer is 10 years old, and for the first time a youth editorial team from Unge stemmer will cover the theater festival in Fjaler. Runa Borch Skolseg, playwright, critic and author, is joining us as a mentor for the young people.

Unge stemmer is a website where young people can publish criticism, reflection and reviews of the professional performing arts they experience. Unge stemmer was started by Scenekunstbruket in 2022 and has since then had permanent youth editors at the festival Showbox, as well as Marked for musikk, Marked for scenekunst in addition to youth writers who have written about performing arts from several other festivals and performances.

In these ten years, Young Voices has gained a foothold as an important player in the field of performing arts and is an audience development, inclusion and diversity initiative, helping to give young people a voice and an arena for art criticism. Young Voices took on an international dimension with the EU project TEEN, where several different reflection tools were designed by young people themselves.

At Fjaler, Scenekunstbruket is joined by Runa Borch Skolseg, playwright, critic and author. She has written the plays Det siste epos, Peer/Bitch and City of Passion, and has been the editor of Mette Edvardsen, Koreografi and Verk Produksjoner. She has organized seminars for institutions such as Black Box Theater, Oslo National Academy of the Arts and written criticism for Scenekunst.no. In 2020-2021 she was an associate artist at Black Box as part of the interdisciplinary and discursive collective Carrie, in 2022-2023 she is a house playwright at Dramatikkens hus. She has written the poetry collection Bois published by Kolon forlag and in 2022 she will publish the novel Renessansefeminin horror with the same publisher.

Runa will be a mentor for a local youth editorial team following the Young Voices festival.
