This year, Showbox is hosting the EU project Performing arts as the Third Place for the young audience (3Place), led by Scenekunstbruket . We have invited artists and institutions with different approaches to art, participation and place development in a conversation about how we can use performing arts methods to build relationships with the young audience.

Can't make it to Dansens hus on Wednesday, November 29 at 13:00? Don't worry, we'll be streaming the conversation!

  • The conversation will revolve around topics such as:
What can theaters/stage houses offer and how does this develop the institutions' identity as art producers?
  • What is the right balance between being a place to hang out and being a place for activities and art production? Or; what is a good balance between audience building and artistic development?
  • What kind of artistic methods are relevant in the meeting with young people who do not necessarily see the performing arts as a place for them?
  • What role can performing arts play in young people's lives; do we offer experiences, participation, social community, entertainment or education?
