This year, Showbox is hosting the EU project Performing arts as the Third Place for the young audience (3Place), led by Scenekunstbruket. We have invited artists and institutions with different approaches to art, participation and place development in a conversation about how we can use performing arts methods to build relationships with the young audience.

Can't make it to Dansens hus on Wednesday, November 29 at 13:00? Don't worry, we'll be streaming the conversation!

  • The conversation will revolve around topics such as:
What can theaters/stage houses offer and how does this develop the institutions' identity as art producers?
  • What is the right balance between being a place to hang out and being a place for activities and art production? Or; what is a good balance between audience building and artistic development?
  • What kind of artistic methods are relevant in the meeting with young people who do not necessarily see the performing arts as a place for them?
  • What role can performing arts play in young people's lives; do we offer experiences, participation, social community, entertainment or education?
