Scenekunstbruket + KHiO = True
Kloden and Scenekunstbruket have partnered with the Oslo National Academy of the Arts (KHiO) on a series of performing arts courses for young audiences.
Kloden and Scenekunstbruket have partnered with the Oslo National Academy of the Arts (KHiO) on a series of courses in performing arts for young audiences. Throughout the spring and fall, we will look at the role of the producer, strategies for working with target groups and performing arts for children and young people in a historical perspective. We have also invited director/actor Hildur Kristinsdottir and playwright/director Torill Solvang to a professional day on contemporary practices in performing arts for children and young people.
The free what?
What does it really mean to work in the independent performing arts field? What funding schemes are available? How do I run my own company? How do I write a good application? Where can I get a job if I want to focus on performing arts for children and young people? Eirik Willyson, producer of Kloden, has during January this year given the second class of the acting program an introduction to basic producer tasks, as well as an overview of the field of performing arts for children and young people so that the students know what opportunities exist in festivals, stages and support schemes.
How to work artistically on your own?
With your own company, you have full artistic control over your own work. Kjell Moberg is the artistic director of Kloden, and of his own company NiE, which has worked internationally with performing arts for children and young people for twenty years. In mid-February, he will meet the students in a week-long workshop based on his work with actors and with a focus on working with target groups.
We have also invited Toril Solvang and Hildur Kristindottir, two leading performing artists who have worked extensively with children and young people. They will share thoughts about their own practice and conduct a workshop with the students.
Historical and international perspective
What was the situation 20 years ago, and where are we now? How does Norwegian performing arts for children and young people compare with other countries? Norsk Scenekunstbruk and Kloden present historical developments and international trends in performing arts for young audiences. By Ådne Sekkelsten and Kjell Moberg.
