Performing arts for children and young people throughout the country!

Children all over the country will be able to experience good performing arts this fall, and not just on the regular theater stages! With Scenekunstbruket's performance repertoire, we ensure that children and young people, regardless of their place of residence and background, have access to good performing arts wherever they are.

- Every year, around 250,000 children and young people throughout Norway see performances from our repertoire. As a national player in the Cultural Rucksack, it's important for us to show the wide range of genres and high quality of performing arts for children and young people today, both inside and outside the institutions," says CEO Ådne Sekkelsten. He explains that Scenekunstbruket's repertoire currently consists of well over 100 different productions, including international guest performances - all available for touring. Last year, 64 different productions toured Norway.

As many as 14 schools in Nordland will be visited by Antero the puppet man who wants a fresh start, where he can be himself. But he needs someone to dance with! A pair of juggling balls perhaps? Or a girlfriend? The piece is created by juggler and circus artist Frida Odden Brinkmann, and in 1 1/2 she combines puppetry and contemporary circus in a subtle solo performance.

Absence Crew, known from Mitt Dansecrew and other shows, will be touring Østfold with the hit showAskeladdenpå nye eventyr. The popular dance performance uses spectacular acrobatic antics and infectious energy to convey Norwegian folk tales in a new and exciting way. The show is the most performed in our repertoire with 370 performances in the last two years and over 87,000 audience members! Watch a teaser of the show here.

In Vestfold, upper secondary school pupils meet Hanna & Heinz, a performance about Hanna Mothes. She is a young woman who falls in love and marries a German soldier during the Second World War. After the war, Hanna, like thousands of other Norwegian women, is forcibly sent out of the country and stripped of her citizenship. Based on this true story, the international company NiE has created a performance filled with music, humor and vitality.
