Vodka, vann og glasnost – en foxtrot for tre
Samovarteatret
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Kirkenes from the Russians after the Second World War. In 2015, it will be 70 years since the rest of Norway was liberated. The performance focuses on a part of Norway's history that is almost unknown to many.
Choices that have consequences, choices that mean that life doesn't always turn out the way you originally intended.
I didn't shoot people, I said. I was caught by the Germans because I didn't shoot. Then I was punished by the Russians because I didn't shoot..Viktor
Mom, stop my socks, I'm going to Moscow! It wasn't communism I was in love with. As far as I was concerned, it was a Russian nurse, Natalya. But instead of Moscow, I went to Kiruna with Regine. Gunnar
I was a partisan during the war. Warships were bombed and sunk because of me, Nestor and the others. We liberated Norway. I couldn't believe my ears when I heard that the border was closed. Is Norway closing the border for us? For me? Vera
The performance depicts the lives of three people - three destinies, three parallel stories. We meet Gunnar, Vera and Viktor. What the characters have in common is that they have experienced the time before, during and after the Second World War. The stories are colored by musician Sergey Gromov on accordion and saw. They are conveyed through text, dance and newly composed music.
It's about faith, hope and love. About the dreams you have for the future as a young person, and how these dreams are affected by the society around you.
Through conversations and meetings with people who have lived "a long life", Samovarteateret and director Bente S. Andersen have created a performance that sheds light on some of our most existential questions.
The performance provides space for reflection and contemplation. As philosopher Søren Kirkegaard says: "Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forwards.
An educational program has been prepared that can be used as pre- and post-work. Contact the group for more info.
