On the evening of February 17, 1978, the fishing vessel Utvik Senior goes down with 9 men.

No one saw anything.
No one?
No one saw anything.
So, what happened?
Where do we start?

We can start with the discovery site that no one could agree on. Or with the wreckage that the fishermen had never seen before. Let's start with the sister who lost her brother, or the father who lost a son. With the commitment that lasted 26 years, or with the grief that lasted forever. We can start with the Cold War, submarines or illegal shipping. Or, we can start now. Here and now, and ask ourselves why things turned out the way they did and how we can avoid the same thing happening again. The narrators are three actors and a male choir. Together they create an experience at the intersection of true crime, documentary and tragedy. A documentary fiction about a story that should not be forgotten.

In today's Europe with two wars, the event could easily be repeated. We see increased tension in the north - we live in the borderland between east and west. If there is a new Cold War, what price are we willing to pay for our security? Who will be the victim of the great powers' game? How can we be critical without becoming conspiratorial?

The production won Hedda of the Year in 2022 and was also nominated for the Hedda Award for best stage text and production of the year. It has received the relatives' Utvik Senior award, and Nina Wester has received the Norwegian Playwrights' Association's Gledesskål for the text.

The production is a co-production between Rimfrost produksjoner and Hålogaland Theatre, in collaboration with Nordland Theatre, Vokal Nord, Festspillene i Nord-Norge and male choir.

CHOIR We need 6 choristers from a male choir for each performance. The best way to ensure quality is for each choir to take part in as many performances as possible, so that there are as few changes as possible. There is already a choir package that the choristers must prepare from, and this must be sent well in advance. There are a number of complicated parts, so we want as experienced choirs as possible. Each choir is expected to be compensated, even if they are not paid as professional performers. Every time a choir is replaced, a minimum of two hours of rehearsal time must be set aside with the new choir. Rehearsal rooms that are not the stage are also needed for this. CATERING Coffee for 14 people + preferably some fruit. ACTORS. Jonas Delerud and Alexander Rindestu both have fixed-term contracts at Hålogaland Theatre. It is possible that an application will be made for a takeover period, where one or both of them are replaced in advance of a possible performance period in order to tour with Utvik Senior. This depends on the logistics of HT.
