What do hip-hop and New Norwegian have in common?
Experience a staged cultural clash that says something about living "between the borders", about expanding one's own space of possibilities, about embracing one's entire identity and finding a place for one's voice in a community. In the same way that hip hop is made up of the music and movements of different cultures, Nynorsk is made up of different dialects in Norway. Both "languages" are unifying, have their origins in struggle, and use sampling to establish their own, stronger identity.
"Samplaren" is for young people who live their lives and shape their identities in a fragmented sea of labels and categories where it can be challenging to find room for their voice.
This is an explosive tribute to those who are constantly negotiating with, for and against themselves.
