Romeo and Juliet is the most famous play in history and the most powerful love story we know. Can it still tell us something today? Yes, we think so. This story can still tell us something about human nature, about our responsibility to each other, about what choices can be life-changing.

Their struggle to be together overcomes all power, tradition and failed conventions. The play problematizes how stupid and unnecessary war is, when in fact love, understanding and friendship are always a possibility.

Young people are invited to discuss and reflect on these themes and their relationship to the world today. This is an intimate and interactive performance for young people aged 13 - 16, young people who are actually as old as Romeo and Juliet were.

The performance was commissioned by the Bergen International Festival in 2018.
