Under the artistic direction of Tore Vagn Lid, Transiteatret-Bergen works at the intersection of theater and music to develop a contemporary and critical experimental theater. After the international success of Die Massnahme at the Bergen International Festival in 2007, and having created productions such as Trio for two actors and Spanish guitar (2004) for children, and Maybe it's too nice? (20004/05)" and others, Polyfonia is Tore Vagn Lid's first attempt to develop his idea of a visual radio play also for young people. The sound design is made in collaboration with Bek - Bergen Center for Electronic Art. How can theater function as a critical medium for young people? This is one of the questions posed for discussion in Tore Vagn Lid/Transiteatret-Bergen's latest attempt; Polyfonia - a visual radio play. The performance is based on the suspicion that young people's lives are played out in an increasingly strong double communication, where the stories - ideals and values - told and communicated by society and schools are contradicted by the stories communicated through the youth industry's own media. In that case, a key question becomes: What happens when a young person's feelings about the body, friendship, trust and sexuality do not correspond to what they feel and think, or when what they hear is contradicted by what they see?
