MIRAD -en gutt fra Bosnia
Teater Fusentast
This is the story of 13-year-old Mirad's experiences during the war in Bosnia and in asylum in a foreign country. Mirad is confronted with the absurdities and horrors of war when his family, a mix of Serbs, Muslims and Korats, is torn apart. Mirad's fate is conveyed by his uncle Djuka (Bjørn Myrholdt) and aunt Fazila (Coby Comvlee).
Imagine your name is Mirad and you are thirteen years old. You live an ordinary life with your father, mother and younger sister. You have good contact with your grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins. You probably know that your mother is Serbian, your father Muslim. An aunt is Croatian. You yourself happen to be Muslim, but you could just as easily be Serbian. And that's how it is in many families around you and with your friends at school. You live in a neighborhood where hardly anyone cares who belongs to which ethnic group. Everyone gets on with each other and no one seems to be on bad terms.
The day has suddenly turned into war. Friends become bitter enemies. Serbian relatives you can't visit anymore. It's too dangerous. Muslim uncles and aunts are chased out of their houses or are in prison. Some of them have already fled into exile. You experience how your father and little sister are killed. No one knows where your mother has gone. Is she alive? There are rumors, but are they true?
This is Mirad's reality. He thought he knew a little about how the world worked. After all, he is thirteen years old. But now he's alone and doesn't understand anything anymore. Everything is dangerous. There are snipers everywhere. Every day could be your last....
With simple, but intense and strong effects, Teater Fusentast tells this unfortunately all too relevant story.
