Martefaen
De Utvalgte
De Utvalgte was founded in 1994 and originally consisted of a core group of actors who had completed their acting training at the Nordic Theatre School in Aarhus. The actors are trained in the tradition of physical theater. Today, De Utvalgte's permanent ensemble consists of Jon Birger Wormdahl, Randi Rommetveit, Torbjørn Davidsen, Boya Bøckmann and Kari Holtan. Kari Holtan has directed De Utvalgte's two most recent productions, including Jimmy Young, which is now touring Norway. De Utvalgte works with the interaction between video, music and stage actors. What characterizes their work is the play with opposites, with roles and identities and with fiction and fact. They mix genres and expressions and the deeply tragic is also deeply comical in their harassment of their own and others' inadequacy.Martefaen is a theater documentary about self-harm.
