Lykkeland is a delightful encounter with many characters and situations that children will recognize from their own play. A performance that offers a close dialog between performer and spectator.

Lykkeland has received rave reviews and is suitable for anyone who loves to play. Choreographer Jamie Watton has taken children's play as his starting point when choreographing this performance. As part of the artistic concept, children were invited into a dialogue with dybwikdans and asked to describe their Lykkeland.Recognizable elements such as bungee jumping, paradise and other toys are the starting point for this performance, and the children are actively involved in a dialogue with the performers. In the performance, the children meet fun characters such as a flying princess, and in a light and entertaining way, the pupils are introduced to contemporary dance.Through dance, voice and live music, the meeting between performers and pupils occurs. Lykkeland is half an hour of exuberant energy and after seeing this performance you just have to get up and dance.

Workshops

There is no workshop linked to the performance, but the children are in close dialogue with the performers during the performance. The performance is based on play situations that the children will identify with and it would be natural if this could be a starting point for reflection on the performance afterwards together with the teacher.
