A two-part dance performance about masculinity, part one deals with the relationship between three men, the rawness and sometimes brutality of their interactions. With a focus on the uncomfortable aspects of building relationships, Lullaby, part one, aims to invite discussions about masculinity, conflict and brutality. Part 2 takes a more humorous approach to masculinity and ridicules stereotypes associated with being a man.

"How I wished during those sleepless hours that I belonged to a different nation, or better still, to none at all.

Is constant movement the solution?Between night and day, is there still a lullaby that can comfort me?How I wished during those sleepless hours that I woke up from a bad dream.

Between night and day, is there a moment of relief we still can find comfort in?"

Lullaby encourages reflection on what it means to be a man while also being physically demanding and entertaining.

Østfold Cultural Development has co-produced the performance Lullaby with Panta Rei Danseteater.
