On a typical Tuesday, 15-year-old Leo is beaten up outside the school gates. Both he and the gang of boys behind him refuse to say anything – and everyone realizes that they are hiding something. Soon rumors start circulating in the class, and teacher Kaja has to try to piece together what really happened.
“Not a Story Like This” is a tale of secrets growing, trust unraveling, and friendships breaking down. Through an intense and intimate story, we ask some questions without easy answers:
What happens when online reality starts to flow into the classroom?
What mechanisms make someone drawn to the extreme?
And what happens when a young person begins to believe that violence is the solution to their problems?
“Not That Story” is developed by the award-winning company Feil Teater, for young people between 14 and 18 years old.
The performance is a collaboration with Den Kultureller Skolesekken in Oslo, Kloden theatre and Voldsløkka stage, and is based on extensive research. The project has been developed in dialogue with professional environments such as the HL Center, Dembra, Dialogpilotene, the Ministry of Justice and Public Security and the August 10 Foundation.

Room or area specifications:
A standard classroom with space for 30 students. The room should be on the ground floor, or it must be possible to transport equipment in an elevator. It must also be possible to turn the lights on/off manually (not sensor-controlled). It is an advantage if we have access to a group room or similar near the classroom, so that we can place equipment and excess chairs/desks here.
Audience location:
The audience sits at desks that are placed along the walls in a horseshoe shape.

We would like help carrying the boat upon arrival and help with rigging when disassembling.

The workshop is designed as a teaching program that we encourage teachers to spend time on. The teaching program is two-part and is intended to be used both before and after the performance. We have teaching materials for teachers before and after the visit.
