"Tell me something I dont know". Selena Gomez

What can you teach a child about adolescence in advance? Perhaps first and foremost that they must follow their own instincts, use their own common sense and draw their own conclusions.

Throughout history, countless works have been written about this period in life; about "using the wings but not forgetting the roots". With well-intentioned hindsight, the aim is to educate children and prepare them for what lies ahead.

The problem is that the road is made as you go - and the last thing you do is listen to advice.

The dance performance "How to be alone" is based on how children in this period move between the safe and the abyss, between belonging and independence.

This is when they learn to be alone, no matter how many others they surround themselves with.

The performance is supported by SPENN, Arts Council Norway and FFUK.
