Festen

- a dance performance for and with youth.

The performance is driven by a narrative centered around a party. The youth party is a condensed event in which several of the challenges facing young people today are expressed. The main theme revolves around setting boundaries and belonging, between standing up for oneself and belonging to a group. At the center of the story are four young people who, together with others, gather at a home alumni party. In preparation for and during the party, the four young people experience situations that challenge and, for some, tip the delicate balance between being in danger and having fun in a young person's life. 

In addition to the four friends, local young people are involved in the performance. The local young people are a big part of Festen and will support the action and strengthen the expression.
