Busteper
Boa Scenekunst
In its projects, BOA Scenekunst crosses different theatrical styles and also draws inspiration from circus and juggling traditions.Heinrich Hoffmann (1809-1894) wrote the children's book Busteper with humorous stories and terrifying illustrations about bad behavior. These stories are the starting point for the performance. We are drawn into the main character Maerry's fantasy world. There she herself is drawn into the Theatre de Disiplin. In Theatre de Disiplin, we meet the arch-educator Victoria's hard-hitting perfectionism and the somewhat more tired Gordon's capricious methods. Through grotesque stories, shrill mandolin insistent verse singing and animated films, we get plenty of ominous evidence of how wrong things can go if you don't behave.
Website as an educational tool: In connection with the performance, a website has been created - www.busteper.no - which covers the entire process of creating a theater production, from idea to premiere. The aim is to stimulate students and teachers in their theater work.
See press release here. Busteper is produced by BOA Scenekunst and Figurteateret i Nordland presented in close collaboration with Grimfilm. The project is supported by Arts Council Norway, The Fund for Performing Artists, The Cultural Rucksack and Ålesund Municipality.
