Bussen
Bibbi Winberg
The Bus is a performance with dance, music, puppetry and stories where children, adults and performers are invited to a shared experience through a journey. The performance is about a journey in a small red bus with 4 wheels. The bus is both vehicle and puppet theater stage. Two characters, a musician and a dancer explore the encounter with each other and investigate the possibilities of the bus. The bus is a space to hide in, crawl in and out of, or a place to sit and think. Sometimes displacement is the main theme. Other times, displacement is just a way of getting around. Small stories and events will unfold with the help of the magical light. The performance is sometimes big and violent with drumming on the bus and a lot of movement, and at times it is low-key and poetic with humming in a shed during a small downpour. It plays with shapes, colors and space. The movement language strives for a sensual expression and closeness in the meeting with the audience, and the performance itself lasts about 25 minutes, with playtime afterwards. The children sit on the floor in a semi-circle with their adults, and they do not have to sit still or be quiet.
