In the 1980s, Trond Viggo Torgersen's program Kroppen was new and revolutionary children's TV. He could have told children anything and they would have swallowed it whole. And that's exactly what he does in Anatomy for Beginners.

Or rather: He's not allowed to say just anything, he has a very clear script. The script is a pure transcript of interviews with children aged four to twelve, who philosophize about how the body works. Trond Viggo's voice conveys these thoughts with obvious authority and professional weight. Through dance and text, the children are inspired to have an imaginative and pleasurable relationship with their bodies, while hopefully also reflecting critically on The Truth with a capital S, even though it is presented by an authority.

The child as expert, what does that mean? It means that everything that is thought and said about the body is real. It is infinitely large and very small. Dancers Marianne Kjærsund and Erik Rulin are both humorous and strong performers who convey this boundless universe in their own personal way.
