- research on art communication to children and young people

The National Museum, Scenekunstbruket and Concerts Norway have joined forces to present research and research findings from the three art areas of visual arts, performing arts and music. We want to influence the work of communicating art to children and young people by highlighting the common features of the research, and aim to show that the research presented has transfer value and relevance to other art forms as well.

How can we make the encounters between art and children and young people meaningful? How do we create meaning in the communication of art to children and young people? Does art become educational in the encounter with the child audience, or does the child become part of the world of art in the moment of experience? How can we best connect art, knowledge, collaboration and experience? What kind of artistic strategies do we need to use to communicate to and with children and young people? Do we need artistic strategies in communication?

Among the speakers we will hear are researcher and associate professors Alexandra Lamont from Keele University in England and Palmyre Pierroux from the University of Oslo, researchers and drama educators Lisa Nagel and Lise Hovik, researcher Alexander Refsum Jensenius from the University of Oslo, and associate professor Kari Holdhus from Stord/Haugesund University College.
