Geir Hytten is a new member of Scenekunstbruket's artistic council. The Artistic Council is an assessment body whose advisory function is to contribute to safeguarding and strengthening the artistic and communication quality of performances included in Scenekunstbruket's repertoire. In addition, the artistic council will assess applications for the adaptation of performing arts performances for touring and revivals, as well as allocate funds set aside for this purpose in collaboration with Scenekunstbruket.

Geir holds an MA in Dance from Laban and an MPhil in Human Geography from UiO. In London, he collaborated with Punchdrunk in various projects over ten years. Other companies he has been associated with are; Vincent Dance Theatre, The Cholmondeleys and The Featherstonehaughs, Frantic Assembly/National Theatre -Scotland, Daniel Kramer/Frauke Requardt (Sadler's Wells), Coisceim, National Theatre -London and Complicite.

In Norway he has been part of Jo Strømgren Kompani, danced for Impure Company, Brageteatret, Ulf Nilseng/Toyboys, Kjersti Engebretsen, Marie Nikazm Bakken/Friedrich Floen, Elle Sofe, Simone Grøtte, Katrine Kirsebom, Laterna, De Naive/Roza Moshtaghi, Gry Ulfeng and Karstein Solli.

He has choreographed and performed We Sing (2016), YOUR FAN (2018), hello brother stage and film (2019-20), grief will be our companion (2021) and will premiere at in visible at Dansens Hus spring 2024. He is employed by Skuespiller -og Dansealliansen (SKUDA).

The Artistic Council is appointed by the CEO in consultation with Scenekunstbruket's board of directors, and currently consists of seven people appointed on the basis of their expertise. The artistic council must collectively have broad professional expertise. The members of the artistic council normally serve for three years at a time. Professional advisor Guri Birkeland is responsible for the work of the Artistic Council.
