The overall aim of the call for applications is to increase access to art and culture for children and young people with special needs. The application deadline is May 21.
White Paper no. 10, 2011-2012, Culture, inclusion and participation, states that cultural policy has not succeeded in its goal of equalizing social differences in terms of both use and participation in cultural activities, and that disabled people are still under-users/participants in the cultural field.
The Cultural Rucksack is an arena that should also work for children with special needs. In this connection, project funding is announced for the creation of workshops, performances, exhibitions or other displays. Together with the DKS administration, Seanse - Center for Art Production will lead and provide professional assistance to the projects, and collaborate with the institutions/schools that will be involved. A joint start-up with an artist residency in Volda is planned for all art productions in August.
It is desirable to have 6-10 projects that can tour the 2014/15 school year. Applications can be submitted for either the creation of completely new projects and initiatives or for the further development of existing projects with a view to adaptation for the target group this project is aimed at.
The six areas for projects are:
- performing arts
- visual art
- music
- movie
- literature
- cultural heritage
The application deadline is May 21. Read more about the call on the Arts Council's website: Call for applications INK 2013
