In Dagsrevyen on August 18, Children's Ombudsman Reidar Hjermann said: "Children and young people have to settle for recycled pieces from our childhood, i.e. Cardamom City and Hakkebakkeskogen and these things that the adults thought were great when we were little. Children have a right to art and cultural experiences that reflect their own time, in the same way that we adults do."

Hjermann also advocated that the ministry should more strongly guide cultural institutions on how public funds should be spent on children.
