- Scenekunstbruket is an actor that contributes to achieving AP's goal in cultural policy: that everyone should have access to good cultural experiences regardless of age, place of residence and wallet.15 million extra for Scenekunstbruket in the Labor Party's alternative budget

Scenekunstbruket provides children and young people with high-quality performing arts across the country. We want to invest in and support this. With increased funding, Scenekunstbruket can do more, and therefore it is natural for us to show our recognition and support by proposing 15 million more in the national budget," says Anette Trettebergstuen, cultural policy spokesperson for the Labor Party.

Funds directly to performing arts

Managing Director of Scenekunstbruket, Ådne Sekkelsten, is pleased that Ap has recognized Scenekunstbruket's work and development potential in its budget. - This is a great recognition of the work we do to develop the performing arts for young people, both in terms of artistic and professional development, young people's participation, democratization and our nationwide dissemination, says general manager Ådne Sekkelsten. - With such an increase, the field of performing arts would really get the boost it so desperately needs, and more children and young people across the country would get to experience significantly more theater and dance.15 million extra for Scenekunstbruket in the Labor Party's alternative budget 1

Scenekunstbruket is an efficient institution that ensures that the funds benefit the field, with a good network both at home and abroad to disseminate the performing arts that are produced . " With an almost doubling of the funding, we could have increased the production funds for new Norwegian performing arts that we announce through SPENN, had more resources for skills development and dissemination, for example as we do with our EU projects PUSH and TEEN, and further developed our annual festival Showbox," explains Sekkelsten.

The majority of Scenekunstbruket's funding goes directly to the field, in the form of production support through SPENN, and reimbursement of some of our member counties' expenses for performing arts for young audiences. This ensures that a lot of new performing arts are produced for the target group in Norway, and that demand is high.

Skills enhancement and artist development

Scenekunstbruket is a resource center that works to increase the competence of the entire field through advice and artist development. For many years we have worked with quality in the management of our repertoire and our festival Showbox is an important arena for the entire field. With the EU projects PUSH+ and TEEN, we ensure that both performing artists working with young audiences in Norway and the young audiences themselves have a unique opportunity to further develop and receive impulses from other performing arts environments in Europe. Showbox is the arena for both projects, and is an important meeting place for the performing arts field in Norway, and also very attractive internationally.

With increased funding, Scenekunstbruket can intensify this work, as well as look at possible solutions for other parts of the performative art field.
