Finally, finally, a show that realizes that dance for children is actually boring. This show oozes self-irony. That's one of the main reasons why it turned out so well. The show starts with two dancers dancing beautiful, calm ballet. Fortunately, it doesn't take long before children's voices break in with quotes like; "this is boring" or "I don't understand anything."and that's exactly right, it's boring and you understand absolutely nothing.
The performance is a really creative way to introduce young children to dance, but it works just as well for older children. Here, the children create the performance. They say straight out what they think and what they want to see. The dancers do their best, without making the children happy. This is the core of the performance. The children say what they want. The dancers try to fulfill this. This is new, exciting and not least creative, and it works. It works really well.
The audience in the auditorium laughs, a lot, including myself. Among the many comments, there are a number of gems from the children, and it seems so natural. It's children who speak their minds, they say it straight out.
All in all, this is a fun show that hits the target audience extremely well, but in addition it hits far beyond that. The first class in the auditorium laughed the hardest and the loudest, which is more than enough to convince me that the target audience likes what they see. In addition, this is a show that both entertains the children brilliantly and makes the slightly older ones think about what kind of shows they really want to see. Children are critical, they know what they want. Those of you who decide what children and young people should see would really benefit from seeing this. The performance should be compulsory for all of you.
The performance is so well made, everything is so logical, things fit together so well. We at SUS are delighted with the result, and this is by far one of the best performances to date. Unfortunately, I can't give it a higher "rating" than five, which it deserves. Thank you Hege Haagenrud, Maria Freyvoll, Marie Male Kalstø and all the nine children.
