Thomas Stene-Johansen hired as project coordinator

– I am looking forward to meeting colleagues, artists, young people, partners and everyone else who is working for more and better performing arts for young people. I am especially looking forward to contributing to the Young Voices project," says Stene-Johansen.

After an extensive recruitment process with 204 applicants for the position, we have hired Thomas Stene-Johansen as Project Coordinator. With broad experience from the performing arts field, both as a performer and organizer, he will contribute to the further development of our projects and events.

Thomas takes up the position on March 1st and is looking forward to getting to work: – We can't just feed the young people with performing arts – it's just as important to hear how it tastes! And in Cornelis' lesser-known words: "as long as there are young people who criticize art, there is hope."

Thomas has a varied background as both a performer and organizer in the arts and culture field. With Madam Pysj and Teater Krutt, he has been on tour in the cultural school bag, and will also be releasing his own book; with a big and silent k (2022) this spring. As an actor, he is currently the voice of Ibelin in the film of the same name, as well as in the performance Særp Tropez .

In addition, he has worked as general manager for Oslo Superstore, Prindsen Hage and Nieu Scene, and was the idea creator, festival director and producer for the children's theater festival Virvar (2020).

Managing Director Tine Valavuo Tyldum expresses great joy at having Thomas join the team:

– With a complex expertise and relevant experience both in and outside the performing arts field, and a knowledge of us from the performers' side, I am convinced that Thomas will complement the rest of the administration in Scenekunstbruket very well. In addition, he is a pleasant, structured and curious person, qualities that are important in the position of project coordinator. The new project coordinator position is an 80% position and will, among other things, contribute to the coordination of the artistic council, the Young Voices project, as well as assist in the organization of network collaboration, events and the Showbox festival.
