Scenekunstbruket at CINARS, Montreal
We're on our way to Cinars in Montreal and we're thrilled that two of the dance performances we programmed for Showbox last year, and which are part of our repertoire, have been selected for this showcase in Canada this year.
Scenekunstbruket and Showbox are currently on their way to CINARS, which has been held every two years since 1984 in Montreal, Canada. This is a large, international showcase with over a hundred performances from Canada and abroad. This is where we meet and expand our international network, talk about the performing arts field for children and young people in Norway, our repertoire and not least; our festival Showbox. We will also meet our "friendship festival" Les Coups de Théâtre. Their artistic and general manager Rémi Boucher has been to Showbox several times, and will be back again this year.
Three performances from Showbox 2017 at CINARS
We're thrilled that three of the dance performances we programmed for the festival last year, and which Scenekunstbruket has in its repertoire, have been selected for CINARS this year. Tony Tran and Antero Heins Power and Powerlessness, Panta Rei Dance Theater's Make me Dance and Simone Grøtte's Forgotten became a buzz among the international delegates at Showbox 2017. "It's great to see that we are helping to lift the field in this way, and that being part of the program at Showbox can help produce results for the Norwegian performing arts field around the world.
Showbox as an international meeting place
Showbox 2017 was attended by delegates from Asia, Europe and North America, and again this year we are expecting more international delegates who are looking forward to seeing new Norwegian performing arts. We at Scenekunstbruket work closely with Performing Arts Hub Norway / PAHN to reach out to new contacts around the world, thus expanding our international network.
