The nature we live in holds endless secrets. Beneath the ground, there is a vast invisible network that the forest uses to communicate. Through invisible threads of fungi, nutrients and information are exchanged in complex collaborations. This underground network is the source of inspiration for Veven, a musical fantasy performance that explores this magical world.

The story follows the quiet and shy Karoline and her wild friend Hedvig. One day, while playing in the forest, Karoline discovers that she can hear and talk to the mushrooms in the weave. Hedvig is unable to do so, much to her frustration. This marks the start of an exciting and dangerous journey into the Weave.

The Weave is a biological fantasy where the magic of the universe is based on real biological phenomena. With live music, interactive scenography and a rich soundscape, the performance brings the hidden secrets of the forest to life. Nature is more than a struggle for existence – it is also filled with cooperation and community.

The performance is co-produced by Kloden and DKS Oslo.
