Vesleblakken
Teater Grimsborken
Vesleblakken is a dramatization of a short story by Rendals author Jacob Breda Bull. The short story was published in the collection Prestegårdshistorier (1914), and in a way immortalized when Nordahl Rolfsen included it in his reading book for primary schools.
The story is presented as an authentic childhood memory from the author's upbringing: a brother is terminally ill and medical help must be brought from Tynset. The horse Vesleblakken is both the farm's fastest horse and the children's dearest friend, and it falls to the boy Ola Jonsen Styggpåjord to drive the horse to death in order to get the doctor in time.
Vesleblakken is a co-production between Teater Grimsborken and Teater Innlandet, and is supported by The Norwegian Actors' Equity Association's Fund for Freelancers.
A big thank you to Erling Magnus Stordahl for permission to use the songs "Vesleblakken" and "Minnenes melodi".
