A children's performance that emphasizes a raw, physical dance language in a magical encounter with a tarpaulin. The piece creates space for the imagination through the mysterious and hidden beneath the plastic. The landscape is transformed through various shapes and sounds, from nature with different animals and creatures, to fire, sea, waves and mountains. The tarpaulin becomes like a fold in a symbol of context and consequences; of how we shape, and are shaped by each other and our surroundings.

The review from Scenekunst.no describes "Under overflaten" as a sculptural masterpiece that appeals to children and adults. The performance begins with a simple but powerful idea - a large, green plastic tarpaulin that covers the entire stage floor. Slowly but surely, the tarpaulin comes to life and moves, trembling, quivering, vibrating, undulating, contracting, clumping and unfolding. The audience is fascinated by the way the tarpaulin seems to come to life on its own.
