We meet the Ramsey family in a summer house on the coast. Their youngest son James wants to go out to the lighthouse. The weather doesn't look promising, but his mother doesn't want to take his hopes away."If the weather is nice," says his mother.

Her father gets angry with her for feeding her son illusions; the wind is from the west and the barometer is falling; there is no doubt that the weather will be bad. James thinks his father is enjoying it, and hates him for it. Ten years pass and become the past. Someone dies. James finally travels out to the lighthouse. Everything is different, but for a moment it might not be.

This is an idea about what we see and everything that happens inside our heads. Inside our heads, we are always alone. But because it's like that for everyone, we are somehow together in being alone. Do you see the same as me? Do boys and girls see in different ways? And what's the difference between a moment and ten years? To find out, you have to look inside someone else's head. You can do that in theater!

"To the Lighthouse" is based on Virginia Woolf's novel of the same title.

This is the second part of the theater trilogy Classics for Kids. The first production, "Faust for Kids", premiered in the fall of 2012 and was nominated for the Hedda Award for best production for children and youth.
