Join us on a breathtaking and beautiful flight around the world, where the musicians' mission is to pick up the snuff grinders from the Norwegian Alps, the Brazilian beaches and the urban jungle of New York."Snuff Grinders" is the first dance production to unite the acrobatic dances hallingdans, breakdance and capoeira. 100 years ago, Norwegian halling dancers toured the USA with hundreds of shows with head spin in their repertoire, or to grind snuff as they called it. In the 20th century, the capoeiristas in Brazil also spun on their heads. How could this happen at the same time, but independently of each other on opposite sides of the globe? Now the FRIKAR dancers have revitalized the halling dance, won Eurovision and blown the dust off the head spin. A universal curiosity about what is possible within human nature and the laws of gravity has always inspired acrobatic dancers, and so have the FRIKAR dancers.The crew are world champions in breakdancing, Norway's only capoeira champion and Norwegian champions in halling dance. The story is told via two jet-powered video screens.

Musicians need power on stage. 1 x 16A 230V 1 phase course must be provided.

Comments to the workshop:
FRIKAR dance company is happy to do workshops for students in connection with a performance. On performance days, we limit the workshop to 90 minutes, out of consideration for the performers. On non-performance days, the workshop can last up to 4 hours and all our dancers can instruct. We prefer that each instructor does not have more than 20 students at a time. But feel free to talk to us about this if there are more students who want to participate, and we will find a form that can fit.On courses with Halling dancers, we prefer to have a fiddler, but otherwise playback of audio files from mp3 players is preferred. We then need amplification for these (boomboxes, simple PA system, etc.).
